Summer is here, and while many of us are spending it at home, we’d like an excuse to mingle and celebrate!
What better to celebrate than SCBWI Japan member Suzanne Kamata winning a 2020 Crystal Kite award for her YA novel Indigo Girl?
And where better than a relaxed party with friends to practice Twitter-pitching our current projects?
At our Summer Party 2020, we will raise our glasses together to Suzanne and Indigo Girl! Then, time will be allotted for each interested participant—writer, illustrator, or translator—to share one Twitter pitch for a current project. The Twitter pitch (up to 280 characters) should be emailed to the event host in advance per instructions provided when you reserve. During the party, each pitch will be shared on a slide, read aloud, and discussed for 5 minutes. With a friendly atmosphere, this will be a great chance to read several Twitter pitches and share ideas. Submitting a pitch is not required.
Care to join us? All SCBWI Japan members are welcome to participate. You can check your membership status by visiting SCBWI.org, clicking the striped green icon at the top right, and then clicking Renew.
We look forward to your email reservation by July 27, your Twitter pitch, and your participation in the SCBWI Japan Summer Party!
